Project description:

The production and marketing of incubator eggs and poultry chicks in Spain in 2022 was more than 1.5 billion units. And seeing the evolution of the last 10 years, production has had an upward trend, being an important economic activity for the territory.

Ensuring good quality of incubation eggs and the health of chicks is essential to ensure both animal welfare and optimal production. The Vaccination systems in ovo They allow to obtain healthier chicks, which contributes throughout their subsequent productive life.

Well, the project was born to respond to, on the one hand, provide operators with a visual protocol and in real time of the maintenance processes of these machines and, on the other hand, to supervise and record the performance of these machines since they are essential for their proper functioning.

Project objective:

Facilitate and supervise the maintenance work of the In Ovo vaccination machines installed in the company. Test whether augmented reality is an efficient tool for this objective as a preliminary step to apply it in the resolution of incidents or in the training phases.

Participants:

The following companies participate in the project:

  • CEVA SANIDAD ANIMAL, S.A. is a medium-sized company dedicated to dedicated to animal health research.
  • MICHAEL AVÍCOLA: is a large poultry company producing fertile eggs, located in Palol de Revardit (Pla de l'Estany).
  • INNOVACC Catalan meat and alternative protein cluster: The role of the cluster within the project is to network and carry out coordination, management and dissemination tasks of the project. And it will make it possible for the rest of the companies associated with the cluster to know the results and conclusions of the project.

He also participates as an external contractor EURECAT FOUNDATION, as an expert technology center in virtual reality processes and designs.
